Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / IMC

Bismarck, ND

Contract | Rotating Shifts | Onsite

• Maintain and execute provider orders, including management of chest tubes, foley catheter insertions, and titration of low-dose vasopressors for IMC patients
• Provide care for cardiac-based diagnoses including CHF, pacemaker placements, PCIs, TAVRs, heart catheterizations, and atrial fibrillation with RVR
• Manage drip therapies including heparin, insulin, and amiodarone infusions
• Operate and monitor patients using central monitoring systems, Alaris IV pumps, BiPAP, and heated high-flow nasal cannula
• Document all clinical care accurately using EPIC electronic health records and utilize Omnicell for medication management
• Collaborate with a free-charge nurse available on day shifts to support primary nursing staff across a 34-bed unit

• Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of cardiology nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in central line care, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, foley catheter insertion, and post-procedural care (pacemaker, TAVR, angiogram)
• BLS and ACLS certifications — both must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Must be able to badge in and out at the facility for all shifts
• Permanent address must be located more than 80 miles from the facility

• Experience managing IMC-level patients within a stepdown or progressive care unit setting
• Familiarity with EPIC charting and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Prior experience with BiPAP and heated high-flow nasal cannula therapy

• Work within a structured cardiac and IMC team that includes dedicated charge nurse support on day shifts, providing a collaborative and well-resourced clinical environment
• Gain exposure to a high-acuity, diverse cardiac patient population including complex procedural and medical diagnoses
