Travel RN - Med​/Surg Float Pool

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and active ND or compact RN license.

• Active ND or compact NLC RN license required; pending licenses will not be accepted
• Current BLS certification required; pending certifications will not be accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• BSN not required
• A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked; references must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

• Acute care hospital setting on a combined 61-bed Med/Surg Float unit
• Patient population includes surgical patients (total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, general) and medical patients (CHF, CVA, shortness of breath, diabetic complications)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights; CNA support at 1:15
• Telemetry is available on the unit; a monitor tech reads strips and the RN confirms
• Respiratory equipment in use includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• EMR:
  Epic
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• First to float is required for this position
• On-call/standby required with LCD (low census days)
• No drip titration required
• Orientation consists of a travel competency-based orientation (CBO) and a unit-specific float checklist (12 orientation hours total)
• Any scrub color is acceptable
• Candidates may not have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
