Emergency Department RN - Full Time at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck ND
We are looking for passionate, quick-thinking Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department team. This role involves rapid assessment, dynamic patient care, collaborative teamwork, patient & family advocacy, crisis management, charting your growth, and leadership by example.

What You'll Be Doing (A Glimpse into Your Day in the ED):- Rapid Assessment & Intervention: First point of contact, quickly assessing needs, initiating life-saving interventions, and stabilizing conditions.
- Dynamic Patient Care: Managing a wide array of patient presentations—trauma, cardiac events, acute illnesses, and unexpected injuries—often simultaneously, always delivering compassionate and efficient care.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Working with ED physicians, specialists, technologists, and support staff to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Patient & Family Advocacy: Providing comfort and clear communication for patients and their anxious families, offering updates, explanations, and emotional support.
- Crisis Management: Demonstrating proficiency in crisis situations, efficiently managing critical events, adapting to evolving circumstances, and playing a crucial role in patient stabilization.
- Charting Your Growth: Completing defined job-specific competencies, including age-specific care, to handle any challenge that comes through our doors.
- Leading by Example: Embodying and promoting leadership behaviors, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to overall unit excellence.
- Shift Type: Day, Mid Shift, Night
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- On Call Expectations: None
- Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every 3rd Weekend/Every 3rd Holiday
- Education: Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing. BSN preferred, but ADN graduates welcome.
- Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Dakota or in a compact state.
- Experience: New graduates welcomed; for experienced nurses, at least 2 years of clinical experience within an emergency or acute care setting is preferred.
- New graduates start at $34.35/hour, increasing with experience.
- Sign-on bonus up to $17,500.
$35.38 - $50.69 /hour
