Job Description:

The Telemetry RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions. Candidates must have PCU experience and be able to read and interpret telemetry strips. The unit has 32 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5, occasionally 5-6 on nights and PCU level care overflow of 1:3. Common diagnoses include cardiac caths, EP studies, pacemakers, and ETOH, as well as Covid, pneumonia, influenza, and sepsis cases.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Titrate and set rate drips including Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, and Lasix.
• Provide PCU level care and manage a full patient load.
• Function as a helping hand in various areas including MS and ER Holds/boarding.

Requirements:

• Active RN License.
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS, BLS.
• PCU experience, Telemetry and cardiac nursing skills
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred.
