Medical Surgical Float Position in an acute care setting. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to surgical and medical patients, with responsibilities including unit review, patient assessment, and adherence to unit protocols. The position requires flexibility to float across departments and work various shifts as scheduled.
Job Details- Schedule:
Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. - Required Qualifications:
BLS Certification; minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing; license to submit; location requirements not specified; no minimum years of experience required beyond that. - Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with surgical patients including total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology; medical patients such as CHF, CVA, SOB, diabetic issues; proficiency in charting with EPIC; experience reading strips and monitoring tech support. - Float:
Float rotation may be required. - Additional Information:
- Unit notes include profile review and manager interview.
- Common diagnoses include surgical and medical conditions.
- Equipment used includes Cpap, BiPap, hi-flow.
- Telemetry is available, with RN confirming strips and monitor tech reading.
- Shift includes every other weekend and holiday requirements, with a call or standby expectation.
- Unit/department-specific orientation provided.
- Travel compensation policy includes four shifts per contract (or three if under 13 weeks).
- Charting system used is EPIC.
- No trauma level specified; care setting is acute.
