Meat Manager

Spartan Nash Associates, LLC is seeking a Meat Manager to lead all operations of our meat department. You will oversee ordering, cutting, and merchandising fresh meat to company standards while ensuring food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The Meat Manager schedules, trains, and coaches associates, manages inventory, shrink, and gross profit, and delivers excellent service to every guest. You will analyze sales, plan displays and promotions, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the meat department, ensuring product quality and freshness
• Cut, trim, and prepare meat to company specifications and customer requests
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards
• Manage inventory, ordering, and receiving to meet sales while controlling shrink and waste
• Plan and execute merchandising, displays, and promotions to drive sales and margins
• Schedule, train, and lead meat department associates, fostering a safe, inclusive environment
• Monitor sales, margins, and departmental budgets, taking action to meet performance targets
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and equipment safety in all meat prep and sales areas
• Provide excellent customer service, resolving issues and assisting with product selection
• Collaborate with store leadership on store-wide initiatives and execution of company programs
