Wednesday 1pm-7pm, Thursday through Tuesday 7am-7pm, Wednesday 7am-1pm

Enforces policies and procedures with all patients/residents, visitors and staff. Patrols and secures facility buildings and grounds as assigned.

• Monitors conduct of visitors on premises and confronts unauthorized persons for questioning.
• Reports safety, fire hazards or security violations.
• Responds to all requests for assistance from employees, patients/residents and visitors.
• Assists with any and all situations; i.e., problem‑solving with positive outcomes.
• May escort personnel to and from parking areas as requested.
• Maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
• Ability to work with all age groups.
• Must be able to prioritize calls for service in order of urgency based on safety needs.
• Work in highly stressful situations and de‑escalate as soon as possible.
• Maintain awareness of local laws affecting conduct on private property.
• Communicate effectively with all customers, write professional reports, and perform basic security officer functions as trained.
• May access areas where medications are stored to perform specific job related functions.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; college or vocational education preferred.
• Prior experience in healthcare security, contract security, and/or law enforcement highly preferred.
• Current valid driver’s license (with Sanford insurability dependent upon region) may be required.
• Basic certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety preferred within one year of hire.
• Physical ability to perform basic security officer functions as trained.
