Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Plains All American Pipeline (Plains) seeks an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support safe, reliable operation of our crude oil and NGL pipeline and terminal assets. In this field-based role, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical distribution, motors, PLCs, SCADA-connected controls, and instrumentation used for measurement and protection. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, support commissioning and calibration, and ensure all work meets strict safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Working closely with operations and engineering, you'll help drive reliability and performance in a safety-first, performance-driven culture within a leading North American midstream energy company.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems for pipeline and terminal assets
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, PLCs, control panels, and measurement equipment
• Support safe, reliable operation of crude oil and NGL transport, storage, and terminal facilities
• Assist with commissioning, calibration, and testing of control and safety systems
• Respond to operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Ensure work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards and Plains procedures
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve system reliability
• Document maintenance activities, updates, and modifications in CMMS and technical records
