General Summary
The Cash Count Team Member is responsible for the daily count of gross proceeds, cash banks, cash profit, deposits, and completing and verifying income and deposit reports. Requires a valid driver’s license and daily travel to multiple locations within the organization. Additional duties include auditing daily gaming activity and light office work. This position represents the Bismarck-Mandan Convention & Visitors Bureau (BMCVB) professionally and maintains confidentiality.
This is a part-time position.
Must be available to start between 7:30 and 8 a.m.
Responsibilities- Participate in the daily cash count of gaming activity at BMCVB gaming sites.
- Verify all gaming banks, deposits, and related gaming paperwork.
- Safeguard keys, combinations, and any organizational assets.
- Perform light office work, including filing, copying forms, and delivering supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all BMCVB policy and North Dakota State regulations.
- Count pull tab machine cash boxes, complete paperwork, and make bank deposits.
- Report any abnormalities in data or violations of State Regulations to the Controller and Gaming Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Confidentiality – Access to confidential information.
- Mental Application – Knowledge of or ability to learn gaming laws, rules, and regulations; attention to detail to detect mistakes or abnormalities in data.
- Contacts – Internal and public contact with BMCVB divisions, staff, vendors, and the public.
- Scope – Understanding of policies, procedures, and state and federal laws and regulations.
- Working Conditions – Close contact with other individuals for more than 15 minutes at a time; work performed in irregular office conditions and small confined spaces; requires daily travel to multiple locations using an employee-owned vehicle; all sites are non-smoking facilities; perform many time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced nature.
- Equipment Operations – Operation of general office equipment, including copier, currency counter, calculator, Etab Machine, computer, and telephone.
- Education – High school graduate or equivalent experience (GED); excellent basic math skills.
- Experience – Cashier or audit experience helpful; knowledge of ND gaming regulations helpful but not required.
- Abilities – Ability to follow instructions accurately; good written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail.
- Sit at a desk and stand for extended periods in close contact with another employee.
- Finger dexterity to operate office equipment and count currency.
- Ability to read, write, complete required paperwork and communicate effectively and clearly in person and on the phone.
- Be able to twist, bend, crouch, reach, climb, balance and lift/move up to 30 pounds.
- Be able to exhibit well-paced mobility to perform functions and daily demands of the position.
- Be able to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Work in close contact with other employees or bar staff at the gaming sites.
Must pass a background check required by the Office of the North Dakota Attorney General.
Compensation and Hours- 20 hours per week
- $18 per hour plus $2 shift differential on Saturdays
- Rotating Saturdays and holidays
