- Pay:
Yearly average of $83,500 - Schedule:
Primarily Monday‑Friday with occasional Saturday; average 10‑12 hrs a day and occasional overnights

Food and food‑service delivery drivers play a critical role in the country’s food‑supply chain. They ensure products arrive at the right time and in good condition, while representing the company and building lasting relationships with customers. Drivers are responsible for operating a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes—including local, over‑the‑road, shuttle, and overnight routes—delivering and/or unloading food and related products safely and timely in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).
Responsibilities
- Communicate and interact with customers, vendors and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly
- Act as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company
- Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer in line with DOT regulations and company safety standards; report any safety issues or required repairs
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines and policies; immediately report safety hazards and inspect trailers for proper loading and securing of freight
- Count and verify items, cross‑check customer invoices, and complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
- Attach pre‑loaded trailer to tractor and drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule
- Unload products, transport items to designated customer storage areas, and perform damage‑control checks; scan items and contact supervisor if orders need to be removed per company policy
- Verify delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures; collect cash or checks where required, load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure tractor, trailer and freight are securely locked and/or protected at all times
- Unload damaged goods and returns, bring them to driver check‑in, and complete necessary paperwork; remove equipment and trash from trailers as required
- Record hours of service daily and enter them in logs per Federal DOT, state and company requirements
- Maintain housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required
- At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 12+ months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL‑A
- Age 21 years or older
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or possess a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new one
- Ability to hand‑lift and use two‑wheelers, lift gates and/or other equipment to move or stack product cases/freight ranging from approximately 10 – 35 pounds up to 60 – 90 pounds during the shift
- Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (e.g., People Net)
- Hand‑held point‑of‑delivery scanning system experience (e.g., POD)
- Customer service related work experience
