DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position but is not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the implementation of electrical and power component designs for new construction and maintenance projects within the pipeline industry is required. Specialized education, which provides additional knowledge in the design and operation of high voltage power systems and medium voltage induction motors;
Thermography Level I and Maintenance Manager (CMM) certification is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to actively engage in safe behavior and understand and follow the principles and methods related to pipeline and workplace safety as established by the Company.
- Knowledge of emergency and safety procedures, policies procedures, equipment operating parameters, and all applicable DOT, EPA, FERC, DHS and OSHA requirements.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for planning, monitoring, tracking, and managing the people, time, budget, and quality of work on project(s).
- Knowledge of high and medium voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to utilize computer hardware and software (such as SKM Power System and Relay Software - GE Multilin and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories) to manage, record, and evaluate company information.
- Integrate designs into project plans and administer maintenance and construction contracts during the implementation of electrical and power component designs.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products including Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Manager, and Access.
- Skill in manual dexterity to operate multimeters, vibration detectors, oscilloscopes, high potential testers, and Megger resistance testers.
- Ability to design and analyze high voltage power systems and develop resolution of problems relating to the use of the Company's power systems.
