** Job Description**#
** Basic Purpose
** Interpretive Guides facilitate educational programming, serve as guides for areas of interest within a state park or other tourism location, and maintain facility standards. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, and physical labor in both indoor and outdoor environments. This is a seasonal, part-time, entry-level position.

Job Duties
*** Lead guided hikes or other outdoor recreation activities.
* Deliver educational programming.
* Plan and lead arts and crafts activities.
* Maintain trails, including repairs, within the park.
* Perform live animal enclosure upkeep, including care and cleaning.
* Assist with routine groundskeeping and facility organization around Nature Center.
* Greet and assist visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
* Engage with guests in informed interpretation.
* Assist in event setup and takedown.
* Complete daily opening and closing duties for Nature Center.
* Utilize Microsoft Office Suite as well as other software to complete various administrative tasks.
* Performs assigned duties independently, requiring minimal on-site supervision, and completes scheduled tasks accurately and within established deadlines.
* Performs other duties as assigned to support daily operations and agency needs.  #
** Minimum Qualifications
*** Must be at least 16 years of age.
* Physical requirements will include the ability to lead walking tours and navigate trails, regular bending, stooping, and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
* Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including prolonged exposure to heat, cold, humidity, sun, and wind. #
** Special Requirements
*** Scheduled hours will require flexibility, including holidays, weekends, or events, based on the needs of the agency.
* Some locations may require a valid Driver’s License.
