Maintenance Technician II

Job Summary

We are inspired to serve. This position will be responsible for providing maintenance services to keep the facility buildings, grounds, and equipment in good repair, making significant contributions to the safety, well‑being and comfort of residents and employees.

• Complete assigned work requests and preventative maintenance work orders as assigned by supervisor covering auto/small engine mechanics, carpentry, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, emergency generators, low‑voltage applications, swimming pools, fire alarms, valves, fixtures, locks in accordance with campus procedures and industry‑acceptable standards.
• Inspect facilities, systems and their components to ensure safety and cleanliness and identify necessary repairs.
• Use a variety of hand tools, small power tools and other power tools.
• Maintain tools and/or equipment to ensure availability and safe operating condition.
• Provide general labor and responsibility for event set‑ups, deliveries and moves.
• Troubleshoot building and equipment issues as they arise.
• Show willingness to learn and expand trade knowledge of maintenance and facilities.
• Be available to be included in the on‑call schedule.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
• Valid Driver’s License and certifications in applicable field
• 1+ years of experience

• Advanced skill knowledge of working of machinery, equipment and systems within the field.
• Ability to diagnose and repair various equipment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to problem‑solve and work in a team.
• Ability to adapt, prioritize and communicate effectively.

• Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting.
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate various equipment based on department and weather conditions.
• Engage in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing.

Clarity of Vision:
For near visual acuity at approximately 20 inches or less (working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers. For far visual acuity, 20 feet or more. For peripheral vision, observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.

Pay Range: $15.28 – $20.34 per hour, based on job‑related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal and external equity considerations.
