Transmission Electrical Fitter

As an Electrical Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, inspecting and maintaining electrical plant apparatus, such as electrical switches, isolators, circuit breakers, batteries, protection and transformers within ENWL substations. You will safely and efficiently carry out construction, maintenance and fault repair on 33kV/132kV plant and ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, company codes of practices and where applicable, full compliance with Construction Design and Maintenance (CDM) regulations.

You will also need to demonstrate a flexible approach to their working pattern and be able to participate in 24 hour stand by rota.

• Have proven fitting craft skills;
• Hold a recognised Craft Apprenticeship and/or Vocational Training equivalent to a minimum of NVQ level 3;
• Hold operational authorisations enabling you to act as a competent person at the level required for the role;
• Hold a valid, full UK driving licence (essential) with categories B + E (desirable);
• Hold New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) accreditation;
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe working practices and risk assessment procedures;
• Have a broad understanding of the construction industry and the particular role that Electricity North West undertakes.
