I.
Job Summary
Deliver access to technology-related tools appropriate for staff, student, and public use. Design, deploy, monitor, and administer the District's intranet, internet, infrastructure, and network applications. Facilitate appropriate professional training to/for district staff.
II. Qualifications- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
- 2-year associate training or 5 years related work experience
- Industry standard certification/s in networking a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with staff, students, and public
- Must have strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong working knowledge (experience) of operating systems such as Apple, Windows, Microsoft, ChromeOS, and Linux
- Familiar with typical TCP/IP client-server applications i.e., ping, nslookup, telnet, ftp, tftp, smtp, etc.
- Solid background in monitoring of logs, configuration, management, and maintenance on network servers, firewalls, filters, routers, and switches using Graphical User Interface (GUI) and/or Command Line Interface (CLI)
- Knowledge and ability to use components of common software packages i.e., Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
- Must routinely carry equipment ranging from 20 to 60 lbs. in weight
- Proactively monitor and maintain systems to prevent down time
- Implement and monitor security measures against intrusions and unauthorized access to network resources
- Select and recommend equipment and/or software purchases
- Assist in monitoring and enforcing software license issues
- Be familiar with all network/workstation-related operations to provide backup support as necessary
- Provide training and support appropriate for building technology coordinator, assistants, and staff
- Be willing to represent district at regional/state technology-related conferences and meetings
- Remain current through research and/or training on applicable technologies as they evolve
- Documentation, files, reports, and/or correspondence created are clear, complete and accurate
- Effectively identify training needs and seek appropriate resources and opportunities for skill development
- Keep records or logbooks on equipment, such as inventories and maintenance records, system usage, and repair parts
- Observe and identify current or potential problems within technology systems
