Responsibilities
  • Primary Function:
    Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Set up, operate, or tend welding machines or robots that weld metal products, components, or assemblies. Fabricate, position, align, and fit parts of pipe, plates, and structural metal products. Install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Dismantle machines/processes, structural components, or mechanical mechanism at customer facilities.
  • Perform millwright work with some degree of proficiency.
  • Capable of performing pipe fitting and welding projects.
  • Proficient in welding the following: SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW. Overlaying.
  • Basic understanding of weld quality control, welding code standards and specifications, and non-destructive examination.
  • Basic understanding of Radiography (x-ray testing of welds), lay out and fabricate stairs and handrails, fabricate, repair, and maintain sheet metal items.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications /

Experience:

  • Craft I — High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Craft II — Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and three (3) to six (6) years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Craft III — Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and five (5) to ten (10) years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Experience reading blueprints.

Occasional travel and overtime may be required, with potential overnight stays or extended assignments at remote locations.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Must have a STAR Card (Real ) Driver's License or current Passport.
  • Must be able to pass weld tests in accordance with AWS and ASME codes.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a very dynamic environment; must have flexibility with an ability to focus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The job may require climbing of ladders and/or stairs. The employee will often lift heavy pieces of metal, work with arms overhead, perform torso twists, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear.

The employee is frequently required to stand, often for extended periods; the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move weight above 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include strong visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Long hours (10 or more) are often scheduled, and the job may require overtime and travel.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noises, tripping hazards, exposure to sparks, welding arc, and open flame. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, mild industrial chemicals, inclement weather, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud.

Benefits
  • $60 per day travel per diem and accommodations provided when working at remote locations. All travel and accommodation expenses provided.
