Table Operator

Perform as the table operator in the cheese making process. Responsible for testing, addition of ingredients, and running of equipment associated with the tables.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain records and paperwork accurately
• Take samples in a timely manner
• Communicate regularly with shift TL
• Ensure cheese quality meets customer specifications
• Make changes to table times as needed or as instructed
• Stay current with SOPs as equipment and process changes
• Monitor equipment
• Take pH and Moisture on Cheese
• Perform salt addition
• Safely handle, measure, mix, and dispose of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals used in the Clean-In-Place (CIP) process in accordance with established procedures, safety data sheets (SDS), and company safety policies.

Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to operate or ability to learn how to operate the equipment
• Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
• Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
• Ability to walk and stand for entire shift if needed
• Ability to read and write instructions in English
• Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
• Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
• Desire to grow with the company
• Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure
• Must be well organized
• Ability to troubleshoot

Physical Requirements:

Frequently (51-75%) use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Stand, walk, reach with arms. Occasionally (25-50%) walk, lift and/or move 26 to 60 lbs. Rarely (1-25%) stand, sit, talk or hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less);

distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

Environmental Conditions:

May be exposed to noise levels in which hearing protection will be needed. May be exposed to humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, and fumes and toxic chemicals. May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.
