HVAC Project Sales Representative

Job Description

Position:
Project Sales Representative. Role involves marketing the company to new clients and developing turnkey solutions including estimating and proposal presentation for mechanical and plumbing retrofit projects in commercial markets. Manage existing customer relationships.

• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems; assess existing systems and recommend repair, modification, or replacement solutions.
• Interpret drawings, equipment specifications, and jobsite conditions accurately.
• Understand full lifecycle cost of owning, operating, and maintaining facility systems; use knowledge to propose solutions that improve performance and reduce long‑term costs.
• Analyze project specifications and drawings to define scope and estimate requirements; determine sizes, distances, quantities, timelines, costs, resources, and materials.
• Develop detailed, professional proposals for current and prospective customers; maintain thorough documentation of account activity, generate reports, and track customer and supplier interactions.
• Create innovative design‑build solutions tailored to client needs.
• Prepare, present, and respond to proposals aligned with customer requirements, including RFPs; communicate repair, modification, and replacement recommendations clearly.
• Develop a deep understanding of each prospect’s technical and financial needs; identify and qualify new business opportunities, deliver compelling sales presentations, and address questions or objections.
• Follow up promptly on leads and referrals, building rapport and uncovering customer priorities; maintain a healthy pipeline of quotes to meet booking goals.
• Respond quickly to customer concerns, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and partners.
• Plan and manage schedule to maximize productivity, including strategic management of quotes and opportunities.

• Associate’s degree in Construction Sciences, HVAC, or related field;
  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of experience and knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems and components.
• 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining customer relationships.
• 1–2 years of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to understand and communicate energy savings associated with proposed solutions.
• Experience preparing financial justifications, including energy savings analysis.
• Preferred: experience with industrial refrigeration.
