Travel throughout the United States is required for this position. Expect travel to be around 60%-70% of the time (travel expenses paid by company).

Primary Function

The Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician assists in the electrical construction of shop fabricated equipment as well as field installation of electrical systems. Works with and maintains 480

VAC, 120

VAC, and LVLE electrical systems. Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and complete new installations or modify existing infrastructure – minimizing waste of materials, maintaining NEC code, customer requirements, and Premier Technology standards.
  • Read blueprints, prepare sketches, and maintain documentation of the work process and completed project.
  • Troubleshoot circuitry in new and existing electrical systems, repair or recommend corrective action.
  • Plan and install conduit run, pull, and terminate wiring; wire motors, controls, lighting, switches, relays, panels, instrumentation, and other industrial complex needs.
  • Perform other routine duties. Promote and actively embrace the concept of professionalism, with an emphasis on quality, commitment, integrity, ingenuity, teamwork, the community, and the environment.
  • Safety is a deeply rooted cultural value and it must be promoted and enforced at all times.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience

Fifth-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be a licensed electrician in the State of Idaho and capable of obtaining licenses in other states.
  • Ability to teach and mentor apprentice electricians.

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The job may require climbing of ladders and/or stairs. The employee will often lift heavy pieces of metal, work with arms overhead, torso twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, often for extended periods; the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move weight above 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include strong visual acuity (with or without correction), color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Long hours (10 or more) are often scheduled, and job may require overtime and travel.
Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noises, tripping hazards, exposure to sparks, welding arc, and open flame. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, mild industrial chemicals, inclement weather, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • It is essential for employees to maintain awareness of their surroundings and when required, wear the necessary PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
