Director of Athletic Facilities
The Director of Athletic Facilities reports to the Associate AD / Facilities Management & Finance. Collaborates with the Associate AD with management and oversight of daily operation, maintenance, & readiness of select facilities. This position will serve as the lead decision maker in the absence of other Athletic Facilities Directors in the Department of Athletics.
Coordinates with campus partners such as, but not limited to, facilities, police and safety, & grounds departments to ensure proper repair, cleanliness, functionality, and overall operations, related to events and athletic facilities. Provides oversight to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, & ADA standards.
Provides insight for the creation & distribution of facility calendars to staff, coaches, & campus partners. Directs facility management staff in preparing venues for competitions, including setup & breakdown, & assists with operational logistics. Partners on staffing plans for the month, specifically events, including student workers, housekeeping, and facilities support personnel.
In conjunction with the Associate AD develops, reviews, and updates policies and procedures, and makes recommendations to the Associate AD. Develops a deferred maintenance plan for select athletic facilities, while providing vital recommendations to strategic planning and project oversight. In coordination with the Associate AD, conducts routine facility inspections & identifies safety hazards or operational issues. Partners in maintaining & reviewing workflows & documentation related to usage & compliance.
Recommends and assists with the oversight of purchases related to facility equipment, supplies, & repairs. Reconciles expenses & ensures efficient use of departmental resources. Supervise part‑time facility staff, student workers, & interns. Provide training related to facility procedures, safety protocols, & event operations. Collaborate with coaches, administrative staff, & other campus departments to support facility needs.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in facilities management or related degree with significant experience, or a master's degree.
- Significant experience in managing Facilities and event coordination.
- Ability to lead and organize staff to ensure strategic success measures and outcomes are met.
- Experience in strategic planning, budget and inventory management.
- Demonstrate strong computer proficiency.
- Experience in determining and coordinating resource allocations.
- Excellent communication skills as this position will be the liaison between coaches and administration as well as communication of deferred maintenance within facilities.
- Knowledge of materials, equipment and practices used in facility operations such as basketball goals, turf sweepers, auto‑floor scrubbers, laundry machines, etc.

Salary Information$60,000 to $70,000. Commensurate with experience.
Hours per week40+. Nights and weekends as needed.
