Job SummaryThe Facility Safety Coordinator serves as a key resource during emergencies, providing leadership and coordination to ensure the hospital remains prepared to respond effectively to internal and external incidents while maintaining a safe environment for all who enter the facility.
Responsibilities- Maintaining life safety standards
- Lead emergency management committee (emergency management, disaster preparedness planning and incident command activities)
- Maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including standards established by The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and local, state, and federal agencies
- Oversees safety and security personnel
- Managing physical security operations
- Workplace violence prevention initiatives
- Monitors access control systems
- Maintains fire and life safety compliance
- Maintains Environment of Care (EOC) programs
- Monitors and creates Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM)
- Collaborates closely with clinical and non-clinical departments, engineering, facilities management, infection prevention, quality, risk management, and local emergency response agencies to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
- (DL) Driver License
- (CLSS-HC) Certified Life Safety Specialist for HC FMs
- Associate Degree
- Minimum one-year clerical experience required
