As the Resident Concierge at The Highlands at Huckleberry Ridge in Blacksburg, VA, you will be a front-of-house staff member in an apartment building or luxury community who greets residents and guests, manages deliveries, handles basic building operations, provides local information, assists with service requests, and generally aims to fulfill residents' needs with personalized service, creating a positive living experience within the property.
These employees are responsible for responding to a wide variety of resident needs to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience. Excellent communication and customer service skills are necessary to succeed in this role.
- Greeting and assisting residents and guests: Welcoming people at the entrance, providing directions, managing visitor access, and answering inquiries.
- Receiving, sorting, and delivering packages to residents.
- Concierge services: Providing local recommendations, arranging general business services for residents, developing a network of contacts and service providers, and maintaining a community board for services (pet sitting, house cleaning, dry cleaning, etc.).
- Park Advantage Program: Ensuring the program is active and relevant to community needs.
- Building operations support: Coordinating maintenance requests, managing building amenities, and communicating with building staff regarding repairs.
- Security monitoring: Maintaining building security by monitoring access points, reporting suspicious activity, and ensuring visitor registration.
- Sales / Marketing / Leasing / Renewal: Actively participating in all marketing, sales, leasing and renewal duties.
- Customer service: Addressing residents' concerns, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.
- Ability to interact professionally with residents, guests, and staff, both verbally and in writing.
- Commitment to providing exceptional service and exceeding resident expectations.
- Familiarity with surrounding area, including restaurants, shops, attractions, and transportation options.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Capability to quickly identify and resolve resident issues.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proficiency with computers and typing 30 wpm.
- Strong customer service and communication skills and working knowledge of the locality.
- Ability to perform functions of sales, marketing and leasing.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to attend offsite meetings or run errands for the community.
- Ability to complete forms, read and review reports, and handle a wide variety of correspondence and screens.
- Ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and initiate action.
- Effective communication of ideas to diverse personalities.
- Weekend hours required on a rotating basis.
