Position Summary
The Property Management Program in Virginia Tech’s College of Architecture, Arts, and Design invites applications for a full‑time academic year Assistant Professor of Practice appointment, to begin August 2026 in Blacksburg, Virginia. This is a 9‑month (academic year) appointment with an initial term of three years and the opportunity for renewal. Positions at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice carry expectations in teaching, professional engagement, and service.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Instruction:
Teach and develop undergraduate courses within the Property Management curriculum. - Industry Leadership:
Lead, support, participate, and help coordinate the Property Management Advisory Board meetings and annual career fair. - Mentorship:
Advise and mentor undergraduate students through service as faculty advisor to student organizations related to property management and experiential learning activities. - Recruitment:
Support recruitment of majors and minors through various channels. - Collaboration:
Collaborate within AAD and other programs in the School of Design as well as units across campus to enhance the Property Management program for faculty and students.
- A Master’s degree from an accredited institution in property management or a related field; or bachelor’s degree in property management or related field combined with exceptional professional credentials validated by regional or national awards/recognitions for professional products and significant experience in professional practice.
- Significant professional experience in residential or commercial property management, maintenance management, leasing, operations, management, real estate, hospitality tourism and management, public or business administration, or related field.
