Innovate Program Coordinator

Innovate is a Living‑Learning Community focused on entrepreneurship. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the living and community‑building components of the LLC. The coordinator reports to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the Pamplin College of Business and works closely with the Innovate Academic Coordinator, Office of Living‑Learning Programs, and the Innovate Advisory Board.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the daily point of contact, communication coordinator, and ambassador for the Innovate LLC.
  • Work with Student Affairs on Innovate LLC recruitment and enrollment, program orientation, extra‑curricular event planning and budget management, student leadership and mentorship programs.
  • Coordinate with other LLCs to identify joint events related to relevant topics or the potential for corporate guest events and promote the LLC’s entrepreneurship programs.
  • Collaborate with the Academic Coordinator to plan events related to the LLC course content; this is expected to occur more frequently while the LLC course is in session.
  • Complete required trainings on student support (Title IX and FERPA) as well as necessary fiscal trainings to support administrative functions.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs in Pamplin on Innovate LLC event participation, updated budget, and overall program performance.
  • Participate in semesterly leadership meetings, sharing program reports and reflections with members of the Innovate Advisory Board.
  • Work with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs in Pamplin and the Innovate Advisory Board to develop industry partnerships for sponsor ships, scholarships and leadership opportunities for Innovate LLC students.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with event planning, budgeting, and management.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to run projects simultaneously with a high degree of creativity and initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience or interest in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience in design, development, implementation and assessment of student programming.
  • Experience facilitating trainings, meetings, and curriculum for leaders.
  • Experience with Housing & Residence Life.
  • Experience with entrepreneurship in business.
  • Desire to take initiative in program design and leadership.
  • Desire to learn how to lead responsibly, in line with VT’s Principles of Community and Ut Prosim.
