Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Director, Finance and Planning to join the Student Affairs’ Finance and Planning team in Blacksburg, VA. This role plays a vital part in providing support across multiple Student Affairs departments, with a major focus on Residential, AEDS, Central, Communication, HR and IT with a secondary focus on Dining and E&G departments.

- Master's degree in Public or Business Administration, finance, economics, or related field or a Bachelor's degree with significant training and/or experience, which equals an advanced degree.
- Experience in a financial role in higher education, with exposure to fund accounting, budgeting, payroll, funds handling, procurement, and accounts receivable.
- Demonstrated successful experience in performing detailed accounting work and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of university policies and procedures and demonstrated experience following and communicating financial policies and procedures.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and continuous professional development.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to cultivate positive working relationships, foster teamwork and support collaboration.
- High personal and professional ethical standards and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer software including Banner, Hokie Mart, Microstrategy, Hokie Serv, Windows Operating System, and Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and SQL.
- Demonstrated success in a supervisory capacity.
