We’re currently searching for a Fiscal Technician Senior to join our finance team in Blacksburg, VA, to support the Health and Wellness programs of Student Affairs. So, if you are an organized, fiscally savvy individual with an eye for detail and a passion for numbers, this could be the job for you!
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWABOUT THE ROLE:
- 1) You’ll be joining the Business Operations team to support Virginia Tech’s Health and Wellness departments.
- 2) You’ll be reporting to the Business Manager in a Regular twelve-month, 100% University Staff appointment.
- 3) You’ll be responsible for providing financial services such as purchasing, making travel arrangements and processing travel reimbursements, handling monthly reconciliations, as well as monitoring and managing encumbrances, other duties like running ad hoc financial reports, processing wage payroll and tracking, and records retention. Plus, VT fixed assets and surplus property coordination.

You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $51,000 - $55,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

- Associate degree in accounting/finance or related, or, equivalent experience.
- Previous experience performing fiscal and HR duties in a professional setting.
- Prior experience in purchasing, reconciliations and providing financial reports.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and with a team with a high degree of accuracy in a deadline driven environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work and Outlook).
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Experience with Virginia Tech systems such as Banner, Hokie Mart, Time Clock Chrome River, Microstrategy, FINTRACS and VT Foundation funds.
