Job Description
The computer support specialist position will provide technical support to University Advancement's faculty and staff. The incumbent will have duties to include basic support for departmental computing devices; routine upkeep, maintenance, and supply of workgroup printers, copiers, and fax machines; communication of needs to the Director of Systems Administration and Technology Support; monitoring of incoming service requests and ensuring appropriate escalations are performed;
and maintaining proper documentation.
- Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting and maintaining personal computers running business applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Significant experience providing technical support both in person and remotely.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Consistent track record of being responsible, reliable, and professional.
- Demonstrated ability to be discreet when exposed to confidential or sensitive information.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution, or a sufficient combination of education and experience to be equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
- Experience managing enterprise software updates (ECM, Kaseya, Big Fix, Jamf, etc.)
- Experience with inventory control or fixed assets management
- Experience supporting users in an enterprise environment consisting of both PC and Apple computers
