Manufacturing Engineer I, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, works onsite in Blacksburg, VA. The role supports the Slip Ring production line and outsource vendors, overseeing manufacturing process development with domestic and international teams.

• Work and maintain confidential information.
• Support the Slip Ring production line and outsource vendors.
• Oversee manufacturing process development with domestic and international teams.
• Create engineering and tool drawings, order and support manufacturing tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layout, quotes and continuous improvement.
• Review and respond to requests for quotes on new orders.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and offer improvement suggestions for manufacturability.
• Travel off‑site domestically and internationally.
• Enforce and follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements such as ITAR.
• Provide reports to management on daily, weekly, and monthly performance versus schedules and expenditures.
• Support technical exchange discussions with suppliers and Moog.
• Cross‑train to help in other areas.
• Complete any other tasks assigned by direct supervisor or operations manager.

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field OR Bachelor’s degree with related work experience in a manufacturing environment OR an associate degree with 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing role.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Experience communicating with internal and external customers, coworkers, and other disciplines across the business.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Works well in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment.

• This position requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday, 9 hour shifts; half day Friday. Salary range in Blacksburg, VA: $65,000 - $80,000 annually.
