Machine Shop Value Stream Manager
Job SummaryAs a Machine Shop Value Stream Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for a critical manufacturing operation supporting Moog’s Space and Defense Group. Your responsibilities will include driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective production of high‑quality machined components that exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities- Lead the safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance of the Machine Shop Value Stream.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through Lean principles and waste elimination.
- Coach, develop, and support leaders and employees to build a high‑performing team.
- Manage machine shop resources, budgets, staffing plans, and capital investments.
- Oversee capacity planning and workflow to ensure production schedules and customer commitments are met.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Advanced Manufacturing teams to improve manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to align operational priorities with business objectives.
- Support the modernization and long‑term growth of the machine shop through process and technology advancements.
- Ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or business discipline.
- 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, operations, or a technical environment.
- 7 years of direct supervision/leadership.
- Strong knowledge of machine shop operations, machining processes, and manufacturing best practices.
- Experience leading Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, Kaizen, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive change, and achieve operational results in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with capacity planning, resource management, budgeting, and capital investment planning.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other functional teams.

Compensation DetailsThe base salary range represents the low and high end of Moog’s salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range is one component of Moog’s total compensation package. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region‑specific benefits.
