About The Role
As the Coating Line Team Lead in our 76462 Manufacturing department, you will be responsible for leading a production team on a continuous or fixed shift to safely and efficiently operate coating line equipment. You will coordinate daily activities on the line, ensure adherence to standardized work, and support the Shift Supervisor in meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and productivity goals. This role is hands‑on and shop‑floor based, requiring regular interaction with team members, active participation in production tasks, and the ability to train and develop others while maintaining high operational standards.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Lead the coating line team during assigned shift to meet daily Safety, Quality, Delivery, and productivity targets.
- Conduct attendance roll call at the start of the shift and promptly inform the Shift Supervisor of any team member absences or coverage issues.
- Review the daily production board and previous shift handoff information to ensure clear communication of Safety, Quality, and Delivery concerns and priorities.
- Coordinate and, when necessary, perform operation of dicer, mixer, blade mixer, weighing scales, and related equipment in accordance with standardized work.
- Relieve other employees within the department from duty as directed by the Shift Supervisor or as appropriate based on department needs.
- Develop, follow, and help maintain standardized work instructions with the assistance of the Shift Supervisor to support consistent, repeatable processes.
- Train team members on all aspects of standardized work, including Safety, Quality, and Delivery processes, and assist the Shift Supervisor in cross‑training efforts.
- Support the maintenance and updating of the training matrix, documenting training completion, skill levels, and cross‑training progress for team members.
- Audit standardized work for compliance with Safety, Quality, and output requirements; identify deviations, take immediate corrective actions within authority, and follow escalation protocols as required.
- Monitor line performance and product quality, escalating issues to the Shift Supervisor or appropriate support functions when necessary.
- Promote and model safe work practices, including adherence to PPE, housekeeping standards, and safe equipment operation.
- Assist in problem‑solving activities on the floor, contributing to root cause identification and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in or lead on‑job trainings, workshops, and benchmarking activities; share best practices and learnings with the team.
- Use basic computer systems and keyboards to access work instructions, training records, production boards, and other production‑related information.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and other support teams to minimize downtime and ensure smooth, continuous operation of the coating line.

Qualifications- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Knowledge of basic computer and keyboard use to access and update production and training information.
- Experience operating production equipment such as dicer, mixer, blade mixer, and weighing scales, or similar manufacturing machinery.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and standardized work documents.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and basic reports or log entries related to production, training, or incidents.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to team members, supervisors, and other employees.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret basic charts and bar graphs related to production and quality.
- Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization may exist.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
