Job Description

The Wireless@VT Website Content Specialist is responsible for developing, publishing, and maintaining accessible and engaging website content using Virginia Tech's Ensemble Content Management System. The position works with Wireless@VT faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders to communicate information about research projects, laboratory facilities, and related activities. This role applies technical knowledge of wireless communications and networking to translate high-level input into clear, accurate web content while ensuring the website meets applicable accessibility and usability standards.

The Wireless@VT Website Content Specialist is responsible for developing, publishing, and maintaining accessible and engaging website content using Virginia Tech's Ensemble Content Management System. The position works with Wireless@VT faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders to communicate information about research projects, laboratory facilities, and related activities. This role applies technical knowledge of wireless communications and networking to translate high-level input into clear, accurate web content while ensuring the website meets applicable accessibility and usability standards.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Education or professional experience related to wireless communications and networking.
• Experience with web design, content development, or content publishing.
• Experience using a content management system, such as Virginia Tech's Ensemble Content Management System.
• Experience using HTML.
• Experience applying web accessibility standards or using accessibility testing tools.
• Experience developing or managing forms using Microsoft Forms or a similar platform.
• Experience researching, writing, or editing technical content.

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Experience using Virginia Tech's Ensemble Content Management System.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 standards and related federal, state, and university accessibility requirements.
• Experience developing website navigation structures and applying web usability principles.
• Experience incorporating images and other graphical elements into accessible web content.
• Experience developing web content within a higher education or research environment.
• Experience communicating technical research concepts to nontechnical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
