Job Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”

The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Provides exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, striving to anticipate patient needs and resolving them proactively.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow‑up measures; translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about any non‑medicinal follow‑up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes, and prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.
