Security Guard

Security Guard – Full Time The purpose of this position is to ensure the safety and security of our residents. Ensure the grounds and buildings are secure on Warm Hearth property by making periodic rounds. Security guards respond to alarms and emergencies and investigate incidents on campus.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for building wide security, including responding to emergency calls from residents and staff. Thus, it's essential that the security guard be able to communicate clearly and respond quickly. Key to success in this role will be a commitment to outstanding resident care, a friendly attitude, and the ability to prioritize tasks as they arise.

Requirements:

Minimum one year of security and/or maintenance work experience, preferable in a health care setting.

High school diploma or GED equivalency

Walking/Standing for long periods of time.

Working knowledge of some maintenance activities.

Previous experience in a position that involved interacting with the public, like food service, retail work, etc.

Preferences:

Knowledge and skills in unarmed security procedures.

Preference given for experience in property or health care facility security and maintenance.

Machines, tools, equipment and work aids:

Telephone, copier, miscellaneous maintenance equipment and supplies.

Physical demands and working conditions:

Walking, bending and stooping in order to aid residents in emergency situations. Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.

Talking and listening are essential in dealing with other personnel and residents.

Work is indoors and outdoors.

Must be independent to commute between properties as well as available when needed.

Shifts/Hours/Schedules:7:30pm
-6am (third shift)
Rotating 4 days on and 4 days off.

The starting pay rate for this position is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour and may increase with years of experience and skill level and annual pay raises in January of each year thereafter.
