Job SummaryPerform maintenance work on production and industrial machinery as well as facilities maintenance. Role may require pipe fitting, welding, machining and repairing mechanical equipment, production machinery and facilities maintenance.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Will use forklift and work from/operate a MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform), such as scissor lifts or boom lifts.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
- Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Maintain and install all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain community among work teams by documenting and communicating, actions, irregularities, and continuing needs, and by escalating/requesting support;
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, or diagrams to inform installation, development or operation activities.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Execute preventative maintenance on motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems used in manufacturing.
- Log work orders, check out parts and review data through our CMMS system (MVP Plant).
- Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor
- High school diploma or GED certificate highly preferred.
- APICS certification desired.
- Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
- Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
