Job Description
We seek a Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) to join the team in Blacksburg, VA. The Coordinator will advise governing councils, serve as a chapter coach, and support programs for 5,700+ members across 50+ organizations.
Interfraternity Council, National Pan‑Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Council, and the United Council.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Education, or related fields, with at least one year of related work experience.
- Experience working with college students and an understanding of the current landscape and contemporary issues in Fraternity and Sorority life.
- Demonstrated collaboration and engagement with individuals from assorted multicultural backgrounds.
- Ability to recognize and protect confidential information and exercise judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to work as a contributing member in a team‑oriented environment.
- Excellent communication, writing, presentation, facilitation, organizational, project‑management, and administrative skills.
- Experience in programming and/or event management.
- Membership in a men’s or women’s fraternal organization.
- Master’s degree conferred by the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated experience in a Student Affairs or student service unit.
- Direct advising experience of a fraternity or sorority or council.
- Experience advising affinity‑based or culturally‑based organizations.
- The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
Base salary: $45,000–$50,000. Benefits include health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and more.
Appointment Details- Appointment Type:
Regular, twelve‑month, 100% full‑time faculty position. - Overtime Status:
