Job Description

We’re currently searching for a Coordinator to join our Residential Well‑being team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. Responsibilities
  • Join the Residential Well‑being team; a department centered on creating intentional residential communities characterized by belonging, flourishing, compassion for self and others, and meaningful engagement.
  • Report to a Managing Director in Residential Well‑being and the Assistant Director, in a regular twelve‑month, 100% administrative professional appointment.
  • Empower all residential students to engage across differences and find meaningful belonging in the campus community.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for dialogue, intervention, and programming to provide experiences that foster an environment of acceptance and civility, where students can share who they are and connect with others from different backgrounds, identities, and perspectives.
  • Lead a team of approximately 15‑20 Residential Well‑being Student Leaders who live in the residence halls and work to ensure that every student is engaged at the optimal level.
  • Have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
  • Be offered a base compensation package between $44,000–$46,000 with an on‑campus apartment or $50,000–$52,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and more.
  • Qualifications Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
    • Team‑oriented and demonstrate adaptability and initiative.
    • Demonstrate vision and creativity in program design and promotion, as well as strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Demonstrate a growth mindset and embrace change as an opportunity for creativity, learning, and improvement.
    Preferred
    • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
    • Experience with campus‑wide engagement and strategic planning.
    • Creativity in identifying, brainstorming, implementing, and evaluating programs and services to build welcoming communities that foster belonging.
    • Ability to respond effectively to crises.
    • Experience working with students in a complex, educational setting.
    Compensation and Benefits
    • Base compensation: $44,000–$46,000 with furnished apartment, or $50,000–$52,000.
    • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid leave, retirement plan, tuition assistance, and VT discounts.
    Position Details

    Overtime Status:
    Exempt (Not eligible for overtime).

    Appointment Type:
    Regular.

    Work Schedule:

    Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm with evening meetings weekly and on‑call throughout the month.

    Hours per week: 40.

    Review Date: 04/16/2026.
