Logistics Specialist
As a member of the Student Affairs Facilities and Operations department, the Logistics Specialist is part of a team responsible for the day-to-day logistics functions supporting residence halls, dining facilities, and student centers. Responsibilities include moving and storage of department assets including student room, lounge, and office furnishings; safe operation of departmental vehicles including box trucks and utility vehicles; inspection and light maintenance of departmental fleet vehicles;
furniture and upholstery maintenance and cleaning; assistance with cabinet shop operations; and support for maintenance operations logistics needs.
The position requires the ability to work independently and as a member of a team while maintaining safe work practices in densely populated pedestrian and student environments. The successful candidate must demonstrate attention to detail, customer service, safe driving practices, and care of university assets and equipment.
Overtime may be required during peak operational periods or emergency situations resulting in student displacement.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:30 am through 4:30 pm with some overtime possible. Will respond to after-hours critical service calls when scheduled.
- Previous experience with general logistics work or maintenance of commercial or institutional buildings.
- Experience with general furnishing repairs, including diagnosing, repairing, cleaning, maintaining, and/or replacing furnishings and upholstery.
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance methods including materials, tools, procedures, and safety practices.
- Previous experience processing complete and accurate work order reports/documentation and auditing/maintaining inventory.
- Previous experience with computers and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Demonstrated ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment in densely populated pedestrian and campus environments.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and transport furnishings, materials, and equipment.
- Some overtime is required and responds to after-hours service calls when scheduled or in emergency situations.
- Must be willing to work weekend shifts occasionally due to student residency schedules.
- Experience working in higher education, student housing, dining, or institutional facilities environments.
- Previous experience operating box trucks, utility vehicles, forklift, or material handling equipment.
- Previous experience working with or understanding blueprints and specifications.
Pay Band: 3

Salary: $37,000 - $42,000 and commensurate with experience
