This position is located in Blackstone, VA and is contingent upon contract award.

Job Overview

The Master Plumber is responsible for maintaining and upgrading plumbing equipment, piping, etc. Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on all plumbing related equipment. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installing and/or repairing various plumbing equipment (water heaters, drinking fountains, toilets, sinks, etc.) throughout the facility.

Job Duties:

* Troubleshoot, repair, replace and maintain all plumbing and its associated components, i.e. waterless urinals, eye washing/safety showers, floor drains, sinks, tubs, toilets, urinals, basins, faucets, lavatories, water fountains, showers, garbage disposals, etc.

* Troubleshoot, repair, replace and maintain all water heaters (gas, electric, steam) and associated control and safety devices.

* Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools, cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine, bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe bending machine, or other means.

* Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals.

* Perform backflow preventer testing and repairs.

* Perform all functions with a professional demeanor and be customer oriented.

* Performs basic electrical wiring for water heaters, pumps and control devices.

* Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, models, and verbal and written instructions.

* Performs tasks timely, accurately, and completely.

* Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.

* Performs on call and preventive maintenance duties.

* Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.

* Performs periodic stock inventories to prepare material requisitions for replacement.

* Operates customer and company motor vehicles and/or other equipment in a safe manner.

* Supports and assists other department staff and trade groups as needed or directed.

* Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

* Valid Master plumber level license for the trade proposed and possess the skills.

* Eight (8) years' experience and knowledge necessary to ensure subordinates perform their work in accordance with all applicable codes, maintenance manuals, or other applicable documents governing their work under the PWS.

* Top-Secret security clearance.
