Construction Scheduler
Title: Construction Scheduler
Reporting to: Office Manager
Salary Range: $67,000 - $87,500
Overview of RoleA Construction Scheduler plays a vital role in managing project schedules and resources, creating and updating baseline schedules, monitoring progress, analyzing change order impacts, performing time‑impact analyses for delay claims, and preparing monthly schedule reports. The scheduler identifies opportunities to add value and help achieve the client’s desired project outcomes.
Essential Functions- Creates, develops, and maintains master development schedules, fully resource‑and‑cost loaded project baseline schedules, and updated monthly project schedules that meet contract requirements.
- Documents and monitors project tasks and schedules, maintaining backups for each project.
- Interfaces with project management, owners, and subcontractors on scheduling‑related issues, reporting requirements, progress status, and time‑impact analysis.
- Collaborates with the team on what‑if schedules to analyze impacts of differing construction methods.
- Supports the team in assessing and documenting delays, impacts, and alternate work plans; proposes schedule recovery alternatives and mitigation strategies.
- Performs time‑impact analyses for change order requests and delay claims.
- Prepares monthly schedule update reports and concise schedule narratives describing project status, deviations, and critical issues.
- Creates schedule performance dashboards and maintains quality assurance on assigned schedules.
- Contributes to teamwork through collaboration and effective communication; identifies opportunities to add value toward desired project outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- BS in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field.
- Previous experience as a Scheduler or Project Controls Manager on construction projects.
- Proficiency with scheduling and project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, ASTA Power Project, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Positive customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Indoor office environment; may require onsite visits.
- Ability to work on a computer and use a telephone.
