School of Rock Blaine serves the Blaine community and surrounding areas with a performance-based, modern approach to music education. Students learn guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and vocals from experienced instructors across a wide range of genres. The program emphasizes band rehearsals, learning music by ear, and building confidence through live performance. Students regularly showcase their skills at community events and local venues, creating an engaging and motivating environment.
School of Rock Blaine offers a collaborative, creative space where both instructors and students can grow as musicians and performers.
The Music Teacher is a part-time, on-site role based in Blaine, MN. Instructors will teach individual and group lessons, focusing on instrument-specific skills, music theory, and performance readiness. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, preparing students for rehearsals and live shows, and providing constructive feedback to support musical growth. The role also involves collaborating with other instructors, maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment, and communicating with students and caregivers about progress and goals.
Music Teachers are expected to actively participate in performance events and support the overall School of Rock curriculum and culture.
- Strong foundational knowledge in Music Theory and general Music concepts.
- Proficiency in Music Performance, ideally with live performance experience.
- Experience or education in Music Education, including lesson planning and classroom management.
- Ability to teach Piano or Drums and at least one additional instrument (e.g., guitar, bass, drums, or vocals).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with learners of varying ages and skill levels.
- Ability to foster an inclusive, encouraging, and safe learning environment.
- Previous teaching or coaching experience in music or related fields is beneficial.
- Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed for lessons and performances.
