Position

Summary

The Finance Manager is a hands-on leadership role with overall responsibility for the finance and accounting function of Karl Dungs, Inc. This individual leads the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Senior Accountant, and related finance resources while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations, including financial reporting and analyses, month-end close, cash management, and accounting compliance.

In addition to leading day-to-day finance operations, the Finance Manager serves as a key member of the Management Team and provides oversight of the Company's finance and commercial processes. The role is accountable for maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance, and advancing process improvements that support business objectives and operational excellence. The Finance Manager acts as the steward of the organization's financial governance framework and is responsible for the integrity, consistency, and effectiveness of the finance and accounting function.

Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations
  • Lead the day-to-day finance and accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, fixed assets, expense reporting, and financial recordkeeping.
  • Ensure transactions are accurate, properly approved, recorded in the correct period, and supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Oversee invoicing, cash application, collections, credit administration, vendor payments, account reconciliations, and resolution of accounting exceptions.
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, the chart of accounts, close schedules, and appropriate financial controls.
Close, Reporting & Compliance
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting under U.S. GAAP and company requirements.
  • Review balance-sheet and income-statement accounts, investigate variances, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Coordinate routine budgets, forecasts, cash-flow reporting, cost-center reporting, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Maintain effective internal controls, banking controls, approval workflows, segregation of duties, and audit trails to ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation. Proactively identify and address control deficiencies, compliance issues, and significant financial matters through appropriate consultation and coordination with headquarters.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax filings, banking relationships, insurance matters, and other finance-related service providers.
  • Manage and develop the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Senior Accountant, and related or outsourced finance resources.
  • Establish responsibilities, priorities, deadlines, workload balance, cross-training, and backup coverage.
  • Review team work product, provide technical accounting guidance, and resolve escalated issues.
  • Build an accountable, responsive finance team that supports the broader business.
Systems & Business Support
  • Maintain the effective use, access, and integrity of SAP and connected finance systems.
