The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading purchasing and inventory management functions, ensuring efficient procurement of goods and services while optimizing inventory investment. This role oversees vendor relationships, contract negotiations, inventory forecasting, and purchasing processes while leading and developing the purchasing team.

• Lead, coach, and develop the purchasing team
• Set performance expectations and conduct evaluations
• Oversee staffing, training, and development
• Ensure compliance with company policies
• Delegate and monitor workflow
• Foster a collaborative team environment

• Oversee purchasing processes and ensure best practices
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supplier terms
• Maintain strong vendor relationships
• Manage forecasting, inventory levels, and replenishment
• Oversee inventory counts and reconciliation
• Review purchase orders for accuracy
• Expedite orders and ensure timely delivery
• Address defective goods and returns
• Analyze purchasing data and drive improvements
• Collaborate with leadership on cost-saving strategies

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5-7 years purchasing or supply chain experience
• Leadership experience required
• Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and requires the ability to perform the following:

• Sedentary work:
  Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (frequent use of keyboard, mouse, and phone).

  Occasional standing, walking, and moving throughout the office or facility to collaborate with team members or access materials.
• Lifting requirements:
  Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 20 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies, small packages).
• Visual and manual requirements:
  Close vision and ability to focus on screens for extended periods; manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.
• Work environment:
  Climate-controlled indoor office setting with typical business noise levels; minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
• Schedule expectations:
  Standard full-time business hours with the possibility of occasional extended hours to meet business needs.
