Facilities Maintenance Manager, Licensed Mechanical Contractor

At Walmart, the Facilities Maintenance Manager oversees the preventive and predictive maintenance of regional facilities, leads a team of technicians, works closely with store managers and facility services leadership, manages vendors, ensures compliance with mechanical and building codes, maintains contractor licenses, and drives performance through analytics and continuous improvement. The role requires approximately 50 % or more travel within the region.

• Work directly with Store Managers and Facility Services Leadership on their facility services needs.
• Work directly with vendors and contractors as needed.
• Provide reporting and analytics on maintenance performance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date contractor licenses to uphold good standing with relevant authorities.
• Participate in training programs to maintain familiarity with the latest regulatory requirements, including site inspections to monitor compliance and quality standards.
• Obtain and secure necessary permits and schedule inspections as mandated by mechanical or building codes.

• General Facilities Services / Overall Building Maintenance Experience – 3–5 years preferred.
• Electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical experience.
• Leadership skills – able to lead, motivate, and develop others.
• Communication/Interpersonal skills.
• Problem‑solving – root‑cause and breakdown analysis experience.
• Customer service.

• EPA Universal Certification.
• PMP Certification.
• Lean Six Sigma.
• Maintain a Mechanical Contractor license in the state of employment.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field with 3 years of experience in facilities, construction, mechanical maintenance, or engineering, OR 5 years of experience in the same areas.
• EPA 608 Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Mechanical Contractor License or equivalent in the state where the position is located.

• Experience with building controls or related areas.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams.
• Experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in optical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments.
• State‑level and jurisdictional certifications and licenses for the work location (including Type I and Type II EPA refrigerant certifications).
• Reciprocal license may apply.
