We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and machinery with a focus on electrical, pneumatic, and robotic equipment.
Hours: Friday-Sunday
Pay: $27 / hr. + weekend shift differential
Location: Red Wing, Minnesota

Job summary:
The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment and machinery, focusing on electrical, pneumatic, and robotic equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, dismantle/reassemble machines, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation. Requires broad technical knowledge of electromechanical principles and a good working knowledge of manufacturing machines and processes. A majority of time will be spent addressing emergency equipment repairs, assisting with complex changeovers, and completing preventive maintenance.
Primary job responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components (electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical), PLC and HMI systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and assist with PM scheduling.
- Notify appropriate resources promptly in case of major repairs and provide accurate communication/documentation.
- Understand all job‑related functions and quality requirements.
- Use a variety of tools and materials safely (power tools, hand tools, machine‑shop equipment, PC, electrical testing equipment, metals, plastics, rubber, PVC, Teflon, metric and English hardware, electrical parts, wood, and fasteners). May also use forklifts and other lifting equipment.
- Maintain effective and respectful relationships with operators and co‑workers.
- Install and assist with installation of parts and equipment.
- Complete forms, records, and reports accurately to document department projects and tasks.
- Work with machine vendors to assist in repairing machines and ordering parts.
- Participate in and support teamwork, continuous process improvement, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Demonstrate flexibility and commitment through cross‑training and helping other departments as needed.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Perform duties safely and in accordance with company safety policies.
- Perform light construction projects such as building shelving or storage bins.
- May be required to work irregular hours or return after shift for unexpected breakdowns or special assignments.
- May install or replace electrical wiring and devices under a licensed Master Electrician.
- May perform minor computer set‑up or repairs under IT direction.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications and skills:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical troubleshooting or electrical‑mechanical field.
- 3‑5 years experience with schematics, AC and DC voltage, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics.
- 5+ years of technical training in a maintenance capacity.
- 1‑3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- High attention to detail and receptiveness to learning procedural work.
- Experience with robotics and fabrication (vertical mill, lathe, welding) strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with Frequency Drives, Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and ladder logic.
- Some knowledge of electrical, motors, and pneumatics preferred.
- Ability to learn a broad range of production processes and related machinery.
- Strong problem‑solving, organization, and sense of urgency.
