Responsibilities
  • Provide direct advanced practice nursing care for primary care and psychiatric issues
  • Conduct comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients/clients with mental illness and/or acute or chronic health issues
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health care providers
  • Prescribe medications and monitor/manage side effects
  • Serve on medical, nursing, and facility committees
  • Provide health education to patients and clients
  • Travel to multiple sites across Minnesota (e.g., Community Behavioral Health Hospitals, CARE sites, MSHS sites, CABHH, AMRTC) and cover care; expenses reimbursed per travel policies
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minnesota licensure and current registration as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota
  • Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota
  • Minnesota licensure and current registration as a registered nurse
  • Authorization from the Minnesota Board of Nursing to prescribe drugs and therapeutic devices
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 or more years of APRN work experience in both psychiatry and primary care
  • Experience with inpatient psychiatric care
  • Experience working effectively with diverse backgrounds and cultures
