Position Overview:
UH Rehab in Beachwood, OH is seeking an experienced and compassionate Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) to join the Acute Dialysis team. This position provides dialysis treatments for hospitalized patients utilizing NxStage equipment in a collaborative environment supported by both onsite nursing staff and remote dialysis RNs via telehealth.
This role offers guaranteed weekly hours, a consistent schedule, and the opportunity to work independently while maintaining strong clinical support.
Schedule & Call Requirements
Guaranteed 36-hour workweek
Typically 3 shifts per week;
Primarily Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Overflow Days:
Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday, as needed
Shifts may range from 512 hours depending on patient census
If no patients are scheduled, technician remains on-call for the scheduled shift and receives full pay for the day
On-Call:
No after-hours on-call responsibilities or on-call pay
Responsibilities
Perform and monitor hemodialysis treatments for acute care patients
Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and disinfect NxStage dialysis equipment
Monitor patients during dialysis treatments and communicate concerns to nursing staff
Collaborate with onsite nursing personnel and remote dialysis RNs via Zoom
Qualifications
Current National Dialysis Technician Certification (CCHT or equivalent)
- Must hold a valid Ohio Dialysis Tech certification
Clinical Practice Information
Technician-to-patient ratio: 1:1
Medication administration is limited to saline per facility protocol
All other medications are administered by floor nursing staff
Clinical support provided by both onsite RN staff and remote dialysis RNs
