Foundry Calibration Technician

Carley Foundry is seeking a Foundry Calibration Technician to support our Quality team by coordinating and performing calibration activities throughout the plant. This role is responsible for ensuring shop floor gages, pyrometry equipment, heat treat furnaces, and other calibration-related equipment are maintained, scheduled, and documented accurately to support product conformity and the integrity of our Quality Management System.

The ideal candidate will have a strong quality background, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the communication skills needed to coordinate with supervisors and team members across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate calibration schedules using calibration software and clear communication with department supervisors.
  • Perform and document calibration activities on shop floor gages, furnace controllers, oven controllers, pressure gages, temperature gages, and other plant equipment.
  • Conduct heat treat furnace calibrations, including Temperature Uniformity Surveys and System Accuracy Tests, in accordance with internal procedures and AMS 2750.
  • Support AS9100, customer, and Nadcap special process audits related to heat treat and calibration.
  • Maintain inventory and assist with procurement of calibration equipment, including thermocouples and related supplies.
  • Coordinate external calibration of secondary standards and other equipment requiring outside calibration services.
  • Work with department supervisors to schedule calibration activities in a way that minimizes downtime and production impact.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements related to quality, safety, and calibration practices.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow and promote all plant safety rules, including the use of required PPE.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality-related role preferred, especially in a decision-making or technical quality position.
  • Computer proficiency required, including the ability to use calibration software, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work in both an office setting and a foundry/manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to maintain annual eye exams.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain internal qualification for heat treat calibration during employment.
Work Environment

This position works in both office and foundry environments. Required PPE may include safety glasses, gloves, metatarsal guard boots, hearing protection, and other protective equipment as required by the work area.

Pay

We offer top pay for experience $24.67 to $28.67 per hour depending on qualifications.

Hours

4:00am-12:00pm, may vary based on business needs.
