Summary
As an Assistant Store Manager, you are the heart and soul of the Lids brand. You strive to foster passion for sporting and fashion goods by meeting customer needs and ensuring all store areas are engaging. Assistant Store Managers are accountable for every aspect of retail performance, including achieving key results, creating a fun and inclusive environment for their team, and delivering exceptional customer service by offering expertise on Lids’ products and services.
People& Training
- Act as Manager on duty for scheduling issues, customer complaints, etc., when the Store Manager is not present.
- Manage store associates through LIDS Training Programs, goal setting for sales and tasks, and regular follow‑up when the Store Manager is not present.
- Administer progressive steps of discipline, including verbal and written warnings in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Engage team members by creating a fun and productive environment and helping them understand how their work supports company objectives.
- Contribute to a respectful and inclusive team environment by establishing supportive working relationships and adhering to Lids Brand Standards.
- Schedule and staff the store, calling associates during unexpected peaks when the Store Manager is not present.
- Assist in recruiting and training store personnel on proper store operations and procedures.
- Ensure store associates comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines, including safekeeping of inventory, funds and property.

- Lead, execute and assist Lids selling strategy to achieve key performance indicators, sales targets, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Resolve customer feedback and address issues in the moment, including escalations and urgent requests, ensuring customers are satisfied.
- Ensure every customer is offered the opportunity to participate in Lids membership programs or special in‑store offers.
- Adhere to current visual guidelines that include proper merchandising, signage and store cleanliness.
- Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the Company Dress Code Policy.
- Execute operations‑focused company‑level directives, promotions and initiatives from Lids HQ.
- Understand and adhere to Policies & Procedures Manual to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain store technology and equipment (MPOS, Lids Custom, etc.) by conducting daily audits and facilitating updates and maintenance as instructed.
- Maintain store facilities, supplies and services by executing service requests and ordering repair work as needed.
- Effectively manage cash, including accurate opening and closing of the till, counterfeit protection practices and consistent bank drops.
- Prepare the store for inventory audits and support their execution to confirm inventory accuracy.
- Open and close the store following the procedures per the Operations P&P Manual.
