Experienced Auto Glass Installation Technician

Overview

As an Experienced Auto Glass Technician, you’ll serve on the front line of the Safelite customer experience, bringing advanced technical expertise and a strong sense of ownership to every job. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional service.

You will leverage your deep industry knowledge, along with Safelite’s cutting-edge tools, training, and technology, to perform complex repairs, replacements, and recalibrations—both in-shop and through our Mobile Glass Shop services.

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop in the most efficient manner, focusing on safety, quality and exceptional customer service. Clean customer vehicles after every job.
• Recalibrating automotive safety systems, including trouble-shooting and completing diagnostic testing.
• Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals as required by the “Safelite Way of Fitting”, work order and customer administration systems, and Safelite's handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
• Communicate with scheduled customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services to customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

• Competitive weekly pay, ranging from $26.50 - $35.25/hr.

• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent Preferred
• Valid state-issued driver’s license; any other license(s) required by federal, state and local laws to operate a company vehicle
• Safelite Safe Tech™ certification
• Proven experience as an Auto Glass Technician (2+ years preferred)

• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist
• Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all laws; monitored via in-cab vehicle safety camera/video surveillance technology
• Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service
• Ability to work outside in a wide range of weather conditions and temperatures
• Ability to work with chemicals as applicable per the Safelite Way of Fitting
• Flexibility in start and end times to accommodate customer needs
• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and troubleshoot issues
• Problem-solving skills, both independently and collaboratively
• Ability to read, write, and interpret English and technical directions
• Strong oral and written communication skills
