Position Overview

The Activity Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive activity program designed to meet the physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual needs of our residents. This role works closely with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to provide engaging activities that promote independence, dignity, and overall well‑well done.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly activity calendars.
  • Organize group activities, games, crafts, music, holiday celebrations, and special events.
  • Complete resident activity assessments and develop individualized activity plans.
  • Encourage resident participation and foster meaningful social engagement.
  • Coordinate community outings and invite local organizations and volunteers to participate in programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Order and maintain activity supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with nursing and other departments to meet resident needs.
  • Decorate the facility for holidays, seasonal events, and special occasions.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in long-term care activities is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and compassionate personality.
  • Ability to plan and lead both group and one‑on‑one activities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Must successfully complete all required background screenings and pre‑employment requirements.
